SUMMER SEMESTER MAKE-UP PROCEDURE
The mid-semester attendance overview has been posted after the sixth week of classes, and the final attendance overview has been posted as we approach the end of this semester.
Please read the rules about make-ups and if you need any further explanation do not hesitate to contact the course director.
LABORATORY COURSE MAKE-UPS:
Make-ups for missed labs will be held on Monday, 08.06.2026. (from 13.45 h until 18.45 h) in lab classrooms A and B and the exact schedule will be announced later.
A student is allowed to miss one lab per semester without having to make-up for this absence.
Every subsequent lab that has been missed (second, third, etc.) must be made-up for.
The first make-up is free of charge, but every subsequent lab make-up has to be paid for.
Example: If a student missed two labs, they have to make-up for one missed lab, which is free of charge. If a student missed three labs, they have to make-up for two labs and pay for one make-up. If a student missed four labs, they have to make-up for three of them and pay for two make-ups.
NOTE: Students who are regular on their labs are awarded one attendance point, as long as they do not miss more than two labs scheduled for their group. If a student attends a lab in a different time and/or place than the one stated for their group in the schedule, it is considered to be a missed lab (which has been made-up for).
If a student missed more than 30% of labs per semester (more than 4 labs per semester scheduled for their group) they are not able to get a signature at the end of the semester and continue the academic year.
SEMINAR COURSE MAKE-UPS:
Seminar make-ups in the form of an essay are due until Friday, 05.06.2026. at 18.00h. Any late submissions will not be accepted.

From a list of seminar topics that the student missed (published on the Moodle online learning platform) they have to choose one (or more) topics to write an essay.
Seminar make-ups are mandatory and free of charge.
Example: If a student missed two seminars, they do not have to make-up for their absence. If a student missed three seminars, they have to make-up for one seminar, by choosing the one topic from the list of the seminars they missed. This make-up is free of charge. If a student missed four seminars, they have to make-up for two of them, by choosing two topics from the list of the seminars they missed and this make-up is free of charge.
Seminar make-up is organized in a form of a mandatory essay, which has the following rules and formatting (please make sure to follow these as the essay will not be read otherwise):
- Between 2 (two) and 4 (four) pages long
- Document margins of 2 cm on each side
- Times New Roman, Arial or similar font, size 11pt
- Include a reference list at the end of the essay
- Submit in Microsoft Word formats (.doc or .docx)
- NOTE: AI writing detector will be used to check for plagiarism.
There is a “Seminar make-up submission” platform posted in the “Make-up procedure information” section on the Moodle online learning platform.
