INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS REGARDING PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT DURING PRACTICAL CLASSES - HIGHLY IMPORTANT!!!!

4th October 2020

Preventive measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 disease at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade during classes in the winter semester of school. 2020/2021 year

INSTRUCTIONS FOR  STUDENTS REGARDING WEARING PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

a. During the exercise, all students and teachers must wear personal protective equipment (PPE): protective coat with long sleeves, uniform (pants and T-shirt), surgical mask (or cotton mask of 6-layer gauze, according to the instructions for its preparation for health facilities) , obligatory shoes, visors and gloves.
b. During exercises, mobile phones are strictly prohibited, especially their storage on work surfaces, for preventive reasons.
c. Avoid staying in common areas (eg in halls).
d. Students ought to put on and take off PPE in a designated room equipped with a place to wash their hands (sink, liquid soap, paper towel).
e. After the exercise, students take off their PPE in the following order: gloves, and immediately afterwards perform hand hygiene with water and soap or alcohol-based agent, then a coat and uniform, and a visor, and perform hand hygiene again. The mask is removed only after leaving the hospital. Students must always wear a mask during their entire stay in the hospital.
f. Students put their personal coat and uniform in a bag and wash it after each exercise at a temperature of 60o. They put the visor in another bag and wash it after each exercise with water and detergent, and then disinfect it with alcohol.
g. It is necessary for students to be trained on the correct installation and removal of PPE before the beginning of practical classes, which will be the subject of a film on the faculty's website.
4. Procedure regarding students with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 disease
• If a student develops symptoms and signs of infection with suspected COVID-19 or is found to be COVID-19 positive, it is necessary to:
o That the student or someone from his immediate environment contact the person in charge of the Dean's Office electronically at the email address: studentska@med.bg.ac.rs. or by phone at 011 / 3636-312
o The person in charge of the Dean's Office informs the student to contact the Institute for Student Health Protection or the COVID outpatient clinic of the Health Center and fill in the electronic epidemiological questionnaire in a conversation with the student. Then, the completed questionnaire is reviewed by the teacher / associate on duty from the Department of Epidemiology and the necessity of isolation of other students in the group and teachers / associates is assessed.
o If a student suffers from a chronic disease, it is necessary to address a written request to the Coordination Body of the Faculty in order to obtain an expert opinion and a proposal on how to attend classes.
o If one student in a group is ill, no additional measures are taken. Other students in the group, if they wore personal protective equipment and did not have contact with suspicious / ill students outside of practice, continue to attend classes normally. If they had contacts without protective equipment outside of exercises, they go to self-isolation (at home or to a designated place in the facilities provided for the accommodation of students at a given time), for 14 days. The same goes for the teachers and associates who led the exercises for the given group.
o The teacher / associate who leads the exercise is responsible for respecting the wearing of personal protective equipment, ie he is obliged to remove a student who does not respect the recommended preventive measures.

General recommendations:
• In case of fever, cough, shortness of breath, as well as if they are suspected of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 or may have been in contact with people who are positive for SARS-CoV-2, students, teachers and other employees should not come to the exercises.
• It is proposed that online classes for all types (lectures, seminars, exercises) be organized for elective courses. Also, it is possible to form an assessment based on activities across the platform.
• Exams should continue to take place with all previously recommended preventive measures.
• Colloquia should be organized in the form of a written essay.
• At each first exercise at the beginning of the semester, students should sign an agreement that they will act in accordance with the recommended preventive measures. The signed consent of the Department should be kept by the scientific fields until further notice.
