XI SEMESTER VI ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018
I Synopsis
Occupational health course aims are to introduce students with:
- basics of occupational physiology
- basics of occupational hygiene
- workplace hazards and risks
- occupational and work related diseases - diagnostics, treatment, prevention, legislation
- occupational and work related injuries- diagnostics, treatment, prevention, legislation
- work ability assessment for different categories of patients and illnesses
- legislative framework in occupational health
The knowledge gained from the course of occupational health during medical studies, enables the general practitioner to:
- recognize different types of occupational hazards and risks and their effect on human health
- perform initial diagnostic and treatment procedures for occupational and work related diseases and injuries
- perform work ability assessment in primary health care settings
- understand the legislative framework applied in different aspects of occupational health
