XI SEMESTER VI ACADEMIC YEAR  2017/2018

 

I Synopsis

Occupational health course aims are to introduce students with:

  • basics of occupational physiology
  • basics of occupational hygiene
  • workplace hazards and risks
  • occupational and work related diseases - diagnostics, treatment, prevention, legislation
  • occupational and work related injuries- diagnostics, treatment, prevention, legislation
  • work ability assessment for different categories of patients and illnesses
  • legislative framework in occupational health

 

The knowledge gained from the course of occupational health during medical studies, enables the general practitioner to:

  • recognize different types of occupational hazards and risks and their effect on human health
  • perform initial diagnostic and treatment procedures for occupational and work related diseases and injuries
  • perform work ability assessment in primary health care settings
  • understand the legislative framework applied in different aspects of occupational health
